The Mission
The mission of Mt. Rachel Baptist Church is the same mission Jesus gave His followers: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
The Vision
Our vision at Mt. Rachel Baptist Church is to build a Christ-centered community of true believers and see our city transformed by the power of the Gospel, as lives are changed through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

South Dakota’s Pine Ridge Reservation is about an hour southeast of Rapid City, where Send Relief has partnered with the Chanku Waste Ranch (pronounced “wash-tay”). Through their ongoing ministry, we have the opportunity to give practical assistance, make personal connections, and share the gospel by showing mercy and compassion through hands-on engagement.
About Chanku Waste Ministries
Chanku Waste Ranch (CWR) exists to provide assistance to the Oglala Lakota indigenous people group. They do this through three lanes of ministry: 1) Construction Assistance is always a need in this region as housing availability is severely limited, and many residents need upgrades and repairs to their current homes. 2) The Chanku Waste Wellness Center focuses on dental and optometry needs, but these essential services are often considered luxuries because of a lack of staffing and resources. There are presently two dentists and one optometrist for the residents across the reservation, which spans a large portion of southern South Dakota. 3) The Summer Camp Program operates for nine weeks. It is a safe, healthy place for youth ages 4-17 to spend their days celebrating their culture, learning bible stories, and enjoying sports and recreational activities.
By way of summer programs, dental care, vision care and construction assistance, CWR pursues the core missions of “Meet, Proclaim, & Make” to revitalize the physical-spiritual health of their community. All our efforts are in the hope of leading those in our circle of influence to the greatest physician and Savior of all time, Jesus Christ.
What will you do?
By partnering with us, you can give practical assistance, make personal connections, and share the gospel by assisting in light construction within our community. Whether you support a local church, encourage a family needing home repair, or join a community service project, your skills are welcome! In South Dakota, you have the opportunity to impact the full scope of an individual’s well-being by helping them feel secure in their housing.
